My Journey

I spent more than 25 years working in the consumer products industry in senior leadership roles across Asia , Africa and North America.

Throughout my career, my core strengths were P&L responsibility and product lifecycle management, along with experience in country-level sales management and strategic planning.

My academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Commerce and Economics, followed by an MBA with a focus on Finance and Strategy. However, in my 40s I began to question the path I was on. Life felt too short to live entirely on someone else’s terms. I was not the CEO of a public company with lucrative stock options, nor did I receive a financial windfall through inheritance or a lottery win. So I asked myself an important question: How could I meet my financial needs without relying solely on employment income?

About My Journey

My academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Commerce and Economics, followed by an MBA with a focus on Finance and Strategy. However, in my 40s I began to question the path I was on. Life felt too short to live entirely on someone else’s terms. I was not the CEO of a public company with lucrative stock options, nor did I receive a financial windfall through inheritance or a lottery win. So I asked myself an important question: How could I meet my financial needs without relying solely on employment income?

That question sparked my interest in portfolio management.

Over the next 15 years, that interest grew into a passion. I dedicated myself to learning how to build and manage investments in a way that would generate sustainable income and long-term financial independence. That journey ultimately allowed me to step away from full-time employment at the age of 55.

Today, I want to share that experience to help others.

Portfolio management is about far more than simply picking stocks. In my view, successful financial independence is built on five key pillars that can help accelerate the path to retirement:

How to invest

There are many investment vehicles available: individual stocks, ETFs, closed-end funds, split-share funds, bonds, and more. Understanding how each works is essential.

Risk tolerance

Knowing your true appetite for risk helps guide smarter investment decisions.

Cash flow planning

Determining how much income you need each month to support your lifestyle.

Account structure

Deciding whether to invest through registered or non-registered accounts and understanding how each affects your strategy.

Tax planning

Structuring investments efficiently to minimize taxes and maximize long-term returns.

My goal is to help others think about investing not just as a way to grow wealth, but as a structured approach to building financial independence.
